Our Projects

Muhanga Needy Project Uganda

Since 2006, we've been working across eight key areas to create lasting positive change in our communities. From education to human rights, each project addresses critical needs and empowers our people.

Education

Vulnerable children from poor families in different communities gather at our school to acquire quality education and other skills suitable for their age and level. Some children learn in wooden temporary classrooms, while others study in incomplete permanent classrooms.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Registered with Ministry of Education and Sports
  • EMIS number with Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB)
  • Primary seven candidates do national examinations at school
  • Some pioneers are now graduates working and serving Uganda
  • Teachers, non-teaching staff, and stakeholders guide students through hardships
  • Focus on morals, discipline, and skills for self-reliance

Health

We deliver awareness campaigns to the community about harmful diseases, emphasizing general cleanliness to fight against both communicable and non-communicable diseases for safer, protected lives.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Focus on dangerous non-communicable diseases: diabetes, pressure, cancer, heart attack, stroke
  • Sensitize communities about disease causes and prevention strategies
  • School nurse provides healthcare for vulnerable children
  • Basic medication services for sicknesses
  • Immunization against poliomyelitis, measles, pneumonia, and other diseases
  • Collaboration with government health workers
  • Promotion of healthy foods and drinks recommended by expert dietitians

Women & Youth Empowerment

Creating opportunities and raising the status of women and youth through education, entrepreneurship, and comprehensive support programs.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Conducive environment for female engagement in entrepreneurship
  • Youth participation in business activities
  • Women's sense of self-worth and right to determine choices
  • Access to opportunities: jobs, education, training
  • Raising status through education, awareness, literacy programs
  • Equal status in society advocacy
  • Supporting women and girls in crisis with resources
  • Mentoring youth and women for local impact
  • Ensuring clean water access for better lives
  • Helping new mothers for healthy starts

Environmental Conservation & Sustainability

Comprehensive environmental programs protecting our natural resources and promoting sustainable practices for future generations.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Conservation of water and wetlands
  • Tree planting and growing campaigns, reforestation
  • Promoting renewable energy sources
  • Restoration of degraded land, soil and land management
  • Organic gardening practices and farmer irrigation systems
  • Wildlife conservation and bee keeping
  • Waste management programs
  • Campaigns against bush burning and dry grass burning on cultivated gardens

Climate Change Mitigation

The project carries out activities that actively mitigate climate change and promote sustainable environmental practices across our communities.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Protecting and restoring forests
  • Changing agricultural practices to modern, sustainable ones
  • Creating a supportive environment for climate action
  • Transitioning to renewable energy sources
  • Improving energy efficiency in communities
  • Community and individual climate actions
  • Promoting sustainable consumption patterns

Palliative Care

Palliative care is medical care that relieves pain, symptoms, and stress caused by serious illness. Our goal is to provide compassionate medical care for chronic illnesses.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Care for cancer patients
  • Heart failure support
  • Kidney disease management
  • Obstructive pulmonary disease treatment
  • Communicable disease support
  • Non-communicable disease care
  • Services for both young and old community members
  • Pain and symptom relief focus

Human Rights

We strengthen human rights institutions and promote a culture of respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence to reduce discrimination and violence in our communities.

Key Activities & Focus Areas:

  • Strengthening human rights institutions
  • Promoting human rights education
  • Fostering a culture of respect for human rights
  • Community engagement to raise awareness
  • Encouraging participation in human rights initiatives
  • Promoting values of peace, tolerance, and respect
  • Reducing instances of discrimination and violence
  • Promoting freedom of expression and assembly
